Françoise Augustine's artistic realm consists of semi-abstract landscapes, with the ocean in the background, a ray of sunlight, the breath of the wind, animals, and women. Inspired by her hypersensitivity and colors drawn from nature, she presents us with abstract and figurative works that leave room for interpretation. Acrylic, applied with both palette knife and brush, is layered in thin transparent coats, creating a result evoking calmness and subtlety. For her, creating each piece is an intimate journey to discover what resides within her and the emotions of the moment.
Born in Compiègne, Françoise Augustine has been based in Occitania since 2008. Growing up with a marker or brush always at hand, she attended her first drawing and watercolor workshop from 2001 to 2008 with Luis Rodrigues, an internationally renowned painter. She then explored pastels, charcoal, and other mediums, but it was in 2009, in Antonnella Felzines' studio, that her artistic path became clear: abstract art and nude acrylics.
It's the versatility of acrylics that she appreciates, as it allows her to express herself with greater freedom. Since then, she has enjoyed the endless expressive possibilities that abstract art offers. Her work is a tribute to life and the beauty of nature and living beings. Françoise Augustine believes that our world needs tenderness, tranquility, and love, which she aims to share through her artistic endeavors.
