François Maurin (born in 1989) lives and works in Paris.

Between painting and sculpture, through his work François Maurin surveys the “place where images are born” to nourish a reflection on the power of imagining thought.

His work is regularly presented in France and abroad, in personal and group exhibitions in institutions and galleries.

He has notably been shown at the Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature and the Cent-quatre in Paris; at Clearview Ltd - London (with the support of Fluxus Art Projects), or in Brussels, invited by Clovis XV.

François Maurin was represented by the Marine Veilleux gallery in Paris until 2017. He has since taken part in various collective gallery exhibitions, Affinité (s) - Jousse Entreprise gallery (2018), Sessions - Backslash gallery (2017) and Vacuity - Vitrine 65 (2019), in Paris and The end is your choice - Nosbaum gallery -reading (2018). in Luxembourg City.

François Maurin benefited from the residency programs of La Communale in Bidart in 2014 and Villa Belleville in Paris in 2017.

“We could speak of" spatial painting "as the canvases of François Maurin seem to be built on a principle of weightlessness. Playing with the distance with the wall on which they lean, they suggest in their flexibility and plasticity a sort of floating. [...] Their vertical extension suggests the posture of an alter ego, standing upright, trying to put together the pieces of an experience" - Elisa Rigoulet.
