He participated in at least a dozen films under the direction of Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica, Luigi Magni, Luciano Salce, Mauro Bolognini and Luigi Zampa.

His paintings have the merit of invention, of solar colors, of the stories they tell: stories that force the viewer to smile and reflect. His paintings have been defined by critics as "stories involving the soul".

The daily reality in which we are immersed is proposed again in the metaphors of life itself.

He reveals himself as a painter illustrating a book of poetry by the great poetess ALDA MERINI, candidate for the Nobel Prize for Literature. ALDA MERINI immediately expresses her admiration and consideration for this artist: “… what I love about this poet, painter and writer is his ironic reflection on human defects. I am bewitched by his caricatures full of venom and strength…”.

He has also collaborated with the famous set designer EMANUELE LUZZATI, twice nominated for the Hollywood Oscars.

FRANCO ABBINA, whose family of Spanish origin settled in Rome as early as 1200, can be defined as a painter of absolute originality and foreign to any known artistic movement. Therefore an innovator.

FRANCO ABBINA, also following the family tradition in the textile company, has always cultivated a love for art. Simultaneously with economics studies, he has continued and deepened musical studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. He obtained three scholarships at the Actor's Studio and, in theater, he has been the protagonist of many plays, among which "Le Diavolerie" by Alessandro Fersen at the Teatro Caio Melisso in Spoleto (Italy) during the Festival dei Due Mondi.
