Francesco Salvi has acquired a number of career paths including: painter, designer, comic, actor, playwright, movie and theatre director, – the list goes on. 

His works are full of onomatopoeic expressions and symbolic colors, bringing out different emotions in viewers.  Through his paintings, Salvi transmutes a conscious glance on tragic situations but in an amusing way.

Francesco Salvi was born in 1953, in Lake Maggiore, Italy. 

He has obtained a multidisciplinary career path acquiring several different titles: Painter, designer, comic, actor, playwright, movie and theatre director, author (Mondatori, Rizzoli), translator (Lansdale, Gaddis, Woolrich, etc.), essayist, contemporary music composer, Pop singer, stand-up comedian – the list goes on. 

Francesco Salvi is known for his innovative strength and the energetic electro-shock he inflicted upon the stagnant intellectual-art-cultural world and Italian show business. 

Salvi acquired a diploma from the Engraving Academy in Urbino. He has also received a degree from the Polytechnic University of Milan with a thesis on “L’uso del simbolo in architettura” (The Use of Symbolism in Architecture) under Alpago Novello, working as his assistant for two years.

Film and TV bring have allowed him to travel to Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Morocco, Tunisia, Albania, Malta, Spain, England, United States. He has worked with Oscar-winning film director Michael Radford, Thomas Kadman, Peter Greenaway; a Hollywood with triple Oscar award winner, Robert Moresco.

Through renowned gallery dealer Stefano Contini, Francesco Salvi’s art-works that focus on cars have been exhibited in Contini Gallery in Cortina.  His works are full of onomatopoeic expressions and symbolic colors, bringing out different emotions in viewers. Through his paintings, Salvi transmutes a conscious glance on tragic situations but in an amusing way.
