  • About the Artist

Faustine Badrichani is a French artist based in New-York. Her work focuses on the female body and is an exploration of femininity, showcased through colorful nude silhouettes. Her most recent body of work includes paintings on paper mostly, but she has also explored the woman shape using sculpture (direct plaster) and large oil paintings.

She has a unique way of depicting the female body, and has developed a strong visual identity over the years. "For me, painting women is a play between what is universal and what is intimate, and this exploration is endless and takes multiple forms: my characters don't have faces or are not distinct, in an attempt to showcase women as a universal entity. Conversely, their nudity reveals their intimacy."

Born and raised in France, Badrichani attended a business school in Paris, and embraced a career in finance in London and then New York. In 2012, she took a leap and settled as a full time artist in New-York. Though mostly self taught, she attended classes at Parsons New School and at the Art Student League. She has had a few solo shows in New-York and in Paris.
