He graduated from Glasgow School of Art and Hogeschool Sint-Lukas in Brussels. Fabien Marques’s works have been exhibited in numerous festivals and exhibitions, in France and abroad, such as StreelLevel Photoworks, Glasgow, or Galerie CC in Malmö. He has participated in the Copenhagen Photo Festival and the Glasgow Visual Art Biennale, among others. He is a fellow of the Atelier Wicar in Rome in the summer of 2017. He participated in the Salon de Montrouge in 2018, and he was shortlisted for the Fabbri Foundation Prize for Contemporary Art in 2020.

The photographic image is at the center of Fabien Marques’s practice.
His works are often the result of scientific and visual research, and most often explore territories marked by invisible stories.
From intensive investigations, he reconstructs a constellation of iconographic and textual elements that illuminate and re-contextualize particular events.
Exploring places that do not attract attention, and through spatial arrangements, Marques operates between the indefinite limits of document and art, while putting pressure on the photographic medium, to question its ability to represent the world.
