Writing is the cornerstone of culture, the epicenter of numerous artistic representations. Calligraphy is one of his paths of concretion; the first, actually. And there is obviously an art to calligraphy. But for Evelyn Aguilar it is not an end, but rather a means. And the viewer should not even try to understand what the artist "writes", because ultimately she writes nothing. The apparently calligraphic stroke is only the starting point of a larger framework: drawings that recreate people, animals and things, with a delicate lyrical vocation.

The metaphor (one of the possible metaphors) is beautiful: everyone and everything has a story, which could be summed up in words. But we are (everything is) more than words.

Evelyn is suggesting new meanings from the intelligibility of some strokes. The thematic spectrum is very wide, but there is a certain disposition to the small moments of existence. These creatures, these objects evoke the peace of everyday life, the future without trauma... although we all (and everything) hide complexities and mysteries.
