  • About the Artist

The Argentinian artist Ernesto Morales was born in 1974 in Montevideo (Uruguay). He began his artistic career in Buenos Aires, where he lived until 2005. In 2006 after a short period spent in France, he moved to Italy, first to Rome and, in 2011, to Turin.

His international artistic path led him to hold several institutional and private exhibitions in countries all over the world, including the United States, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay.

In 2009 and 2010 he held two retrospective exhibitions: the first at Museo de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires and the second at the Stables of Palazzo Santa Croce in Rome (IILA, Istituto Italo-Latino Americano).

In 2010 he represented Argentina during the celebration of the Bicentennial with an important solo exhibition at Complesso Monumentale della Commenda di Prè in Genoa. In this occasion his book “The Time of Distance”, a retrospective of his work in Italy, was also published.

In 2011, the Republic of Uruguay organised a major exhibition of his work at the Cervantes Institute in Rome.

In 2014 he created a cycle of important exhibitions in Southeast Asia, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

In 2015, Morales has realized a major exhibition in New York, in the Consulate of Argentine in New York.
