Dominique Laugé was born in La Rochelle in 1958. After graduating in literature from the University of Bordeaux, he attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara from 1982 to 1984, deepening the study of the zonal system with Bob Werling and Ansel Adams. Returning to Europe and starting his professional career in 1985, he settled in Milan, where he remained until 2005, obtaining numerous awards over the years, including the Epica International Award for Advertising (1990), the Kodak European Gold Award for Portrait (1995, 1996) and the Prix Mediastar (2005). In Milan he exhibited at the Il Diaframma gallery (1986), at the Center Culturel Français (1997, 2001) and, on several occasions, at the Gallery 70. To remember the participation in the Art Paris exhibitions (2004, 2005) and in the exhibitions After Sicily and Last Latest Dinners at the Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan (2008) and, in 2011, the solo shows at the Bibliotheque Marmottan and at the Institut National de l'Histoire de l'Art in Paris. Since 2012 Dominique Laugé has collaborated with Picture This Gallery (Hong Kong, London), and since 2010 he has been in the organization of the Prix Résidence pour la Photographie of the Fondation des Treilles in Tourtour, under the presidency of Maryvonne de Saint Pulgent.
