Colette Le Bot was born in Landivisiau in Finistère in 1977. From a young age, she was drawn to drawing and painting. She began taking art classes at the age of 10, which quickly turned into a passion. Initially, she focused on watercolor, predominantly depicting floral themes in large formats with close-up views of the subject. Later, she wanted to try pastels, charcoal for portraits, oil paints, but eventually settled on acrylics for the rapid and intuitive expressive freedom they offer.

About ten years ago, she found inspiration in combining acrylic paint with tissue paper, giving rise to her signature style "Papier de Soi". This technique involves layering tissue paper onto the canvas, akin to skin adhering to a surface, sometimes with the addition of modeling paste to create impressions, movements, textures, and reliefs. Drawing from her imagination and sensitivity, she seeks harmony between colors through contrasts, materials, mixtures, and layering while being guided by the structure of the tissue paper.

Subsequently, the tissue paper becomes a self-composition, hence her appellation: Papier de Soi. She loves colorful and bright universes, which is also the effect she aims to achieve in her paintings.
