Carlo Romagnolo was born in Asti in 1967. He attended the European Institute of Design in Milan, devoted himself to editorial illustration for several years before returning to his primitive and innate passion for painting, practiced since childhood.

His artistic production tends to eclecticism and the overcoming of "genres", he wants to combine what is known and iconic with what is anonymous and daily, he seems to want to give shape to emotions and at the same time seek balance ... between the figurative and the abstract for example, between heat and cold, between stasis and movement, between density and transparency.

He prefers the oil technique because it allows him to exaggerate the gesture and the material, in which he sometimes "drowns" other materials such as iron wires, recovered objects or cuttings and torn or burnt photos.

In its last pictorial cycle the night cities saturated with color and electricity evolve to Social Polis, through the insertion of fragments of anonymous characters, recovered from the virtual world, which find a new "sense" in the work.
