Astrid Denelle is most inspired by nature, with all its facets and changing moods and colours. Astrid’s painting process is a total relinquishing of control as she lets her innate creativity take hold of her hands, like a conduit, to emerge freely on the canvas. Before dedicating herself to painting, Astrid had a prolific acting and narrating career, which she continues to pursue today. After having returned to school to receive a certificate in Visual Arts in 1993, she went back and obtained a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2004. Since receiving her BFA, Astrid has been a professional painter, exhibiting her works in galleries throughout Canada.
