  • About the Artist
Born Wigan, GB, 1931. Studied at the Slade School of Art, University College, London, 1952-­56. In 1956 he was awarded a French Government Scholarship and moved to Paris where he continued his studies. In 1980 he co-­curated the seminal Pier and Ocean exhibition at the Hayward Gallery London which explored the relationship between Constructivist Art and the International Avant-­garde of Land Art, Minimal and Conceptual Art and Arte Povera. Around this time he moved to Holland where he held one man exhibitions at Mondriaanhuis in Amersfoort, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. In 2005, he was given carte blanche at Musée des Beaux Arts, Calais followed by a retrospective at Musée Matisse, Le Cateau Cambrésis in 2007. He now lives and works in Lille, F.
