  • About the Artist

Marco Fajer is an Italian artist born in 1977. "Melancholy mannequins dream under their masks. Unexpected mazes opens to their feet, forcing them to unforeseen detours. Marco Fajer reminds us that art – as well as life – is not simple as it may appear: shrill tones and composition rigor helps the instant visual recognition and the emotional empathy, but hides accurate conceptual and pictorial considerations. The artist uses stylistic expedients mediated from the twentieth century art to allow everyone to find themselves in a familiar view and yet new. Fajer analyses the everyday life searching for recognizable signs; then reduces all to the essential, through a definite graphic line. He represents the object reachable, but not entirely. He leaves the keys without showing the door, because he knows that there are many entrances that lead to the meanings. Pure colors and sharp shadows guide the research, letting the object’s core recognizable, to interpret it in a univocal way. If destiny, mocking as betting, dominates men, we still can investigate the aspects to win the game. Marco Fajer is a man at the window. Looking at the reality he can make out its inner aspects, he makes them clear depriving them of their appearances, he can see the fiction of the superficiality and overtakes it through painting, to reach the very core. The artist refuses to go through the world without been amazed by it. The immobility can rule on turning points, in the life maze. However art, saves like Ariadne’s thread, Marco Fajer’s work shows the way out that faces Beauty and Truth." (Francesca Bogliolo)
