Antonio Possenti (1933 - 2016) He was born in Lucca, and in this city has his studio in the Piazza dell'anfiteatro. After his classical studies, he very early discovered the expressive qualities of the drawing, following an inclination to the story fabulous that he has maintained, through the careful observation of the “human comedy". The painting is reached, a self-taught, by drawing and illustration. His educational opportunities were ideal and elective, the result of the intellectual curiosity and of the literary and artistic culture that had breathed since he was a child in the family, ranging from the classical Greek-roman era moderna e contemporanea, with a particular predilection for the experiences of the most lively and engaging fantasy. He traveled a lot and met different characters and cultures, but always comes back to Lucca, where he lives and has a studio in the heart of the city, a magical place that collects, like a huge suitcase, the testimony of his “desk" in the world. In the course of his career, he has exhibited in major Italian and foreign galleries (Gianferrari, The Million, Appiani Art 32 in Milan, Marescalchi and Ovens Bologna, Davico, and Biasutti in Turin, the Ferry to Venice, Poggiali e Forconi in Florence, The image in Arezzo, Aminta in Siena, Philippe Guimiot, Brussels, Rutzmoser in Munich, East West Gallery, London, Art, Diagonal, etc), he has participated in numerous international exhibitions, including the other art Fair, Bologna, do Cologne, Milan, Art Basel, Basel, F. I. A. C. Paris Art Fair in Los Angeles, Art Miami, Miami Beach, New York International Art Fair, Tuyap Istanbul, Foire d'art Gent, Arco Madrid, Stockholm, St-Art Strasbourg, BART Barcelona. He has exhibited with solo exhibitions in prestigious public spaces: Muse of the Uffizi gallery, the Hall of Arms of the palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the royal Palace of Caserta, Tour Fromage, Aosta, Palazzo Ducale di Massa, Castel dell'ovo in Naples.
