-Anna Never was born in 1980 in Bassano del Grappa,Italy, and has studied art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Anna works from a small studio in Bologna. When painting she draws the curtains and listens to music through her headphones and points out that it would probably be possible for someone to enter the house without her even realising it. She starts her works from a lot of different images of an idea, then goes through the process of cleaning up the inner chaos formed by those images, and only then finds a composition that works for her.
She is often inspired by things that might be strange or discomforting to some, but she strongly believes those disturbances of the human nature still should be shown and respected. Therefore Anna paints fictional scenarios that exist in an indefinable time and place - as if in another dimension. Her characters, though silent, are never defeated but show in their gaze how they could fight against everything and everyone who tries to make them submit.
Oil paint is her medium, her work tending towards realism, the compositions always including a touch of almost hidden light that gives depth and life to a scene that is often nocturnal or twilight.

La sua opera è ciò che resta di questa controversia, il conflitto è il fuoco, il movente del suo cantiere. Per definizione o per inestinguibile paradosso, il suo lavoro, dunque, sfugge di mano, vince sul progetto, sul predeterminato, lo mette in discussione, fuori gioco. I suoi quadri danno vita a storie occultate di dissenso ed emarginazione come occasioni di deragliamento dalla specie, solitudine, paura, magia. Mette in pericolo se stessa, va incontro al rischio che nutre, attraversando il perturbante e l’impensato. Ogni opera risponde allo stesso cimento, è una forma di resistenza mortale, uguale e sempre diversa, un residuato tragico. Ogni dipinto è uno smacco al divino, una fuga linguistica singolare, segno sisifeo della creatura sopraffatta.-
