Andrea Tomicic was born in Trieste, Italy. His passion for the art of photography was born when he was only 5 years old, when a friend gave him his first camera as a present for his birthday. He followed photography academies in Milan and Rome and he studied different techniques, such as light-painting, HDR (high dynamic range) and astronomical photography. Since 2005 he has been analyzing infrared photography, which has become his most used technique for his artworks.
Nasce a Trieste e inizia a scattare all'età di 5 anni quando un amico di famiglia,
fotografo professionista di moda e arte, gli regala la prima macchina fotografica automatica.
Incuriosito e affascinato dallo strumento e dalle prime foto fatte, grazie al costante contatto con
professionisti del settore fotografico di Milano e Roma, si è specializzato nell'arte fotografica.
La ricerca l'ha condotto a spaziare tra differenti tecniche, dalla fotografia Macro alle tecniche di
light-Painting, alla fotografia HDR (high dinamic range), quella Astronomica fino a quella a
infrarosso.
Quest'ultima è stata la base per lo sviluppo delle ultime ricerche in ambito artistico, è infatti dal
2005 che si dedica allo studio e allo sviluppo di questo specifico ambito, lavorando
personalmente su tecnica e attrezzature necessarie per la realizzazione dei lavori.
Negli anni ha collaborato con altri fotografi, ha partecipato a numerose mostre, l'ultima delle
quali una mostra personale presso il Tivarnella Art Consulting di Trieste. Ha tenuto altresì lezioni,
come docente, presso alcune associazioni di fotoamatori.

and jury member of international photography awards, he shoots with innovative techniques borrowed from scientific experience. He uses infrared photos to reveal what is not visible to the eyes.

Through infrared photography, precious prints on silver paper depict the invisible. A complex and extremely
rare technique in fine art meets gentle poetics to create an elegant visual metaphor for the journey called life. The viewer is taken along a path of refinement and seduction.
