Ana Teresa Santos

Brief artist statement: "I started with my first pencil drawing at 17 and never stopped improving, learning, and being amazed by my passion for painting and sculpture. I love playing with 3 dimensions on canvas or MDF, sculpting and painting geometric forms. I take inspiration from everywhere around me, but I am sure being a builder has a deep effect on the geometry present in most of my art. Also love portraits, landscapes, photo transfers, wood, metal, or just playing with colors in abstract form. My art comes from my subconscious, it’s pure creativity."

She was born in Lisbon but has been living in Óbidos for the last 15 years. In Lisbon, she got a college degree in geology, but a job took her to Óbidos. Here is where she started working in house construction, building villas on golf courses. Now, 22 years later, she has grown to become a builder. Being the owner of a construction company and mother of 4 beautiful children, life sometimes is not easy but has been very fulfilling for the artist. Art has always been an escape for her. It’s when she forgets about the outside world and tune in with her inner self. Looking forward to growing, learning, and living with more art.
