  • About the Artist

Abdallah Khaled, was born in Tamrichte Bejaia in the region of Little Kabylia in northern Algeria in 1954. Raised artistically between Italy and Algeria, he refined his cultural and artistic background through travel and study periods throughout Europe . He has participated in numerous collective and personal exhibitions, obtaining a wide public and critical consensus. His paintings are found in the National Museum of Fine Arts in Algiers and in numerous private collections in Canada, the United States, Japan, Finland, Norway, France, Germany, Austria, as well as in Italy. His work blends the intense chromatic ignitions, the abstract forms and the formal researches proper to the western artistic avant-gardes with the Arab-African iconographic heritage.

1968 He moved to Bordj-El-Kiffan, on the outskirts of Algiers, where he attended a private art school.
1976 He enters the National School of Fine Arts where he is followed by the painting master Choukri Masly. During this period he carried out decoration and fresco works in schools, kindergartens and public buildings.
1980 He obtains a scholarship for abroad and arrives in Italy, in Perugia, where he attends the University for foreigners.
1981 He entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he studied painting with the master Emilio Vedova and graduated in 1985.
1985 - 1986 He attended sculpture courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.

1998 - 2002 He comes into contact with various Galleries of Paris, Grenoble, Lyon, Villefranche-sur-mer, Milhouse, which for a long time offer it in their exhibition spaces.

2000 He meets the journalist Claude Bedda who introduces him to the Royal Galleries and the Beauchamp Galleries of Quebec City who exhibit him permanently among their artists.
2002 Collaboration begins with the artist Tobia Ravà, which leads to participation in various events (many of which organized in PaRDeS, curated by Maria Luisa Trevisan) on the theme of peace between peoples and the creation of various four-handed works. One of these, the graphic work "Peace outbreak", is donated to international organizations such as the UN and UNESCO.
2006 During a trip to Norway, he made contact with the Arendal gallery His Galleri AS, which offered him in numerous group shows where he received great success.
2007/2008 The city of Landshut (Germany) together with the city of Schio promote a large exhibition in their respective municipal galleries.

With the Zanini Arte gallery, in 2015 he created a four-handed double solo exhibition with the artist Tobia Ravà. In the latter, the works by the Venetian artist of Jewish culture Tobia Ravà and the Algerian artist of Islamic culture Abdallah Khaled have as their theme peace, a topic of burning political relevance, given the worrying international situation, the opening of new fronts , the persistence of old conflicts and the always difficult relationship between Jews and Muslims.
2004 Following the twinning between the city of Schio and Landshut (Germany) various group and personal exhibitions are organized at the Städtische Galerie.
